UK auction house Network Auctions enjoyed success at its September sale, raising a total of £6.7 million.

Its two day event, which took place in London & Birmingham, it contained lots from all over the UK, with a success rate of 83%.

At the London location, a selection of lots performed well. One lot in Chelmsford was particularly well received, and was sold on behalf of a Housing Association. The property was originally on the market with a guide price of £179,000, but prior to its auction, offers were in the region of £255,000. After taking the property to auction, the buyer achieved £270,000.

Another impressive sale occurred at the Birmingham auction date, when a lot located in a prime area for student lettings in Selly Oak performed better than expected. Guide priced at £100,000, it went on to sell at auction for £280,000.

“These particular sales demonstrate the advantage that auction can have over a normal private treaty sale and the huge added value an auctioneer can provide in advising on maximising value,” comments Toby Limbrick, Managing Director of Network Auctions.

Network Auctions have also since announced that estate agents Diamond Moves from Hounslow and Haarer and Motts in Torquay have joined ranks with the auction house.
